Melody was sick this week, so we kept it simple.
RAISING ROCK STARS
LETTER OF THE WEEK
G is for Gumball and G sorting – Melody did the Color by Numbers and Emily just colored the gumballs. Melody sorted the magazine letters and glued the uppercase G’s while Emily glued the lowercase g’s that Melody gave her
OTHER FUN STUFF
MOCHA – We went to the Museum of Children’s Art for a playdate because Melody had gotten free passes from the Summer Reading Program/Game. Dr. Seussology theme drop-in art session (will have to post later), Saturday Storytime, watercolor, playdough, magnet marble maze, painting = Super Fun!
Storytime Art – I’ll post instructions for this soon, but the wheels were pretty cool. Can anyone guess how they made the wheels?
UPDATE: Click here for the instructions on how to do the wheels. T is for Transportation
Magnet Letters – Melody was still eating lunch when Emily was playing with a box of magnet letters. She wanted to play with some, so I grabbed a few for her. These were some random letters she got, and she started making words with them.
Block Puzzle – I made this at MOPS, and they were waiting for the Modge Podge to dry all day. The next morning, I set it out and they were so happy to play with it. The photos had a “sisters” theme. =p Melody knows how to do the puzzle, but Emily just stacks the blocks.
Magnet Letters – After lunch, Emily was playing with this box of magnet letters. I asked her find the letter O. At first, she found the letter C because she saw that it was curved, but put it back after realizing it wasn’t O. Then she found O and was very proud of herself.

Where do even start? We went to the Classical Conversations information meeting on Saturday. The director who is my friend (youth director’s wife at our church) says to go for it, as did a mom from my MOPS discussion group (she will be one of the tutors). Too much going on in my brain right now, besides the headache I had all week. Melody was feverish on Sunday and was super congested the rest of the week. She seemed to be doing a lot better yesterday. Her reading and language skills are exploding. I have her read things to me thinking no way she will be able to do, and then she surprises me! And Emily too! The other day before nap, she spells T-O-Y-S. And she tries to fingerspell it too. She is trying to count to 10 in Chinese and Spanish too. These girls sure do keep me on my toes. They are super into everything that life has to offer.
