Storytime Craft: U is for Up

The preschool storytime at the library goes through a letter of the alphabet each week starting in September. The storytime always begins with a welcome song and singing the ABCs (signing the letters too). All the books go with the theme for the week. There are random songs in between the books (occasionally there will be a related song), and it ends with a craft.

We missed last week’s storytime, and the week before that was a special Chinese New Year presentation, so I’m not sure if this is actually the letter we’re on. We got to the library just after they started.

The books from this week were: Get Up and Go!, Up Above Down Below, and The Itsy Bitsy Spider.

I’m not sure where to get the printout for this craft. Sorry. But I think you can do this yourself by printing out two pages of a plane, and cutting it up beforehand for your child to piece together as a puzzle.

Materials

  • Plane pieces printout
  • Plane printout
  • Crayons
  • Gluestick
  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Color the plane pieces page.
  2. Cut out the pieces.
  3. Glue the pieces onto the page with the whole plane as a puzzle.
