Lakeshore Craft: What’s the Weather? Forecasting Dial

The girls made these weather charts at Lakeshore on Saturday during their free crafts time. If you have a Lakeshore Learning Store near you, you should really take advantage of this service. The worker prepares everything, your kids do crafts, and you don’t have to clean up the mess.

  • Paper Plate
  • 2 Beads
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Construction Paper
  • Materials for decorating

Already done prepared for us: a paper plate marked off in 4 sections and the pointer.

  1. Decorate each section with a weather scene.
  2. Check out the weather each day and put the pointer on what the weather is.

This Saturday was actually Science Day so the kids got to sign in and then get “passports” to be stamped at the different stations.
#1: All About Bugs – Bugs Rubbing Plates
#2: Let’s Discover – Watch a tornado and fountain inside bottles.
#3: Senses Fun – Sort items in different categories of the 5 senses.
#4: That’s Science! – Watch a volcano eruption made from a volcano kit.

There was also a microscope which was really cool. You put it close to an object and it zooms in really close. There was a sensory tub filled with sugar (I think), little dinosaur skeletons, and scoops as a excavation kit. Another table had “make your own snow“, and bug matching was another table.
