Raising Rock Stars Preschool ~ Letter P

Below are only some of the things we do for school. I’m not able to capture too many photos when we’re out and about since I only have so many hands. Don’t know how you moms with more kids than arms do it! The main program we’re following is Raising Rock Stars with Carisa at 1+1+1=1. Using that format to teach the letters, I use Erica at Confessions of a Homeschooler‘s Letter of the Week curriculum. Melody also loves workbooks, so we end up doing a lot of that too. You can read more about how MELODY’S ADVENTURES all started.

We are finally getting back into the groove with school. In the upcoming weeks I have to make some changes since a lot of the Letter of the Week stuff is too easy for Melody, and Emily wants to join in. She will probably be doing the LOTW stuff. I was surprised to find that she can do some of it already. We had a great new years. Sushi and seeing the Christmas lights for the last time!

Getting Ready for P Easy Reader – There was a bath toy turtle on the table so Melody used it as her “pointer”.

Art Easel – She decided she wanted to draw a pig. Can you tell which is hers? =p PowerPoints – We were getting caught up on old slideshows that we didn’t do. Here is Melody working on the PowerPoint for letter M. And here is the LETTER P POWERPOINT. Lots of P objects at our house.

States – I thought we lost our United States cards, but we finally found them, and Melody was excited to do her workbook pages on Delaware and Pennsylvania. And she has been really interested in writing letters, so we opened her stationery notebook, and are writing to a few of her friends every week. Crowns – Melody wanted to do this Hi Five magazine crown with Daddy.

Crowns! – Here they are with the finished crowns that they made with Daddy. Spinning Wishes(?) – We got this Disney Princess game as a hand-me-down from my cousin’s daughter. Playdough – I think they made these with Daddy too.

Stickers – Emily is removing stickers to put on her crown. New Toys – Two new toys from Christmas. Sorting Apples Spinning Wishes – This time with Daddy. Do a Dot – I was surprised to find that she can actually dot it in the circles!! Coloring – She mostly scribbles but if you ask her to draw circles, she will do that. “Shopping” Easy Reader – Big sis reads the whole sentence. Little sis repeats the main word of the sentence. Book: My First Chinese New Year by Karen Katz (love her books!) DVD: Signing Time – Move and Groove (Signs learned: Body, Dance, Jump, Spin, Walk, Run, March, Bike, Hike, Swim,  Shake, Freeze, Sway, Kick) Songs: 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (#10) from Seeds Family Worship (we didn’t know this week’s song, so we just sang last week’s song again) and Indy’s Great Teddy Bear Hunt (from Juno Baby, we got this DVD for free!)
