Raising Rock Stars Preschool ~ Letter I

~ Melody is 3 years and 7 months old ~
~ Emily is 16 months old ~

We added something new to our weekly schedule. MOPS! Now we have to shuffle a few things around so that Melody can do school like she wants it to be.

The board

Reading the easy reader

Letter I Powerpoint Slideshow

Gluing the Craft – she had a hard time cutting the pieces, so she cut the big ones and I cut the small ones

Cutting and Taping the Verse

Coloring the Verse – Melody is using a lot more different colors now instead of her usual 3 favorites: pink, purple, and orange.

Inchworm Builder – This is the first time she did the builder. I gave her instructions, went away, and came back to find that she finished without asking any questions about how to do it.

Inchworm Coloring Page

Do a Dot I and Inchworm

Counting and Matching the Dots to Number on Inchworm – She started out going in order from 1, 2, 3…and then she went random.

I is for Iguana

Colors & Shapes Workbook

WeatherWe do this every school time along with the Calendar.

Color Wonder(?)

Signing Time The Zoo Train DVDWe checked out The Zoo Train from the library this week because we were planning a trip to the Oakland Zoo for Saturday. It was the girls’ first time there AT THE ZOO. Words learned – Rhinoceros, Kangaroo, Camel, Gorilla, Crocodile, Elephant, Penguin, Giraffe, Bat, Seal, Panda, Hippopotamus, Zebra, Tiger, Lion, Monkey, Starfish, Shrimp, Lobster, Crab, Octopus, Dolphin, Whale, Shark

Here is the Powerpoint Show we put together with the photos Melody took of I things. She took the SD card out of the camera and put it in the slot on the laptop. I uploaded them into a PowerPoint show. I did the title slide, and she typed out all the words as I told her the spelling for each one. LETTERI

Sweeping Up Leaves with Gung-Gung (grandpa in Chinese, my dad)Our trees were getting out of control and I guess my dad couldn’t stand it anymore.

Making Caramel ApplesI got a kit to put these together from MOPS. There was a casualty…a broken bowl because she got too excited that Yeh-Yeh (grandpa in Chinese, hubby’s dad) was going to help us out. Washing apples, unwrapping caramel squares, dipping apples in caramel, and the finished product…a little too hard for little teeth…or even my teeth. =p

Music Time with Daddy

Zip UnzipShe was frustrated that she couldn’t get the bag unzipped.
